In the eternal battle between going out and staying in, on September 25 there can only be one champion. The clear choice is to throw down for for a ticket to the 2nd Annual Lucha Libre Wrestling Match, presented by the Hosteria Verde Supper Club, for just $48. This benefit for the Pump Project Art Complex includes entrance to the main event, as well as art and photography exhibits from Amber Kappes, Daniel Gonazales, and Gerardo Arellano, music by DJ Aaron Montez, and authentic Mexican street food and beverages. Watch the rudos face — or should we say, mask — off against the técnicos in an epic battle of good versus evil, knowing that your support of a good cause puts you on the side of the good guys.

Using a unique method combining layers of painting and silkscreen, the works in The Family of Man use the figure to express community, connection and time.

Statement from the artist:
“The body of work for The Family of Man in Watercolor is composed of two distinct series, The Bruised Fruit and A Temporal Slice. While both series embody themes particular to themselves, they both reflect the interrelationships of man, and in this sense they are one.”
Natalya Kochak is a graduate of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has resided in Austin for the past four years and will be attending a residency at the Red Gate Gallery in Beijing, China this September.

Pump Project is proud to present  The Tesla Project. Artists Cody Scrogum of Twin Villain and Cathy Savage are co-curating a Nikola Tesla extravaganza. Please join us for a day of geeky good fun and celebrate the genius of Tesla!

We’ll have Tesla-inspired artwork from 20+ local artists, including a videotape of poet Lyman Grant reading prose.

  • We’ll have several t-shirt designs to choose from. You’ll be able to pick out a shirt and a screen, and your t-shirt will screen-printed right there while you wait.
  • The band ArcAttack will be headlining our musical showcase.
  • We’ll be screening the film All About Tesla throughout the day.
  • A Tesla Roadster will be on view for a portion of the event.
  • A team from Bits, Bytes & Bots will have robots and computer activities for children.

    WORKING SCHEDULE check back closer to July 10 for more concrete listings.
    Any proceeds will benefit the local chapter of Easter Seals, as they support members of the community with OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a personality trait recognized in Tesla).
