Pump Project featured on KLRU Docubloggers

Pump Project was recently featured on the KLRU program Docubloggers.

Artist Debra Broz talks about the vital role of arts in the growing Austin community and her restoration business, Science of Art. Please visit www.scienceofartrestoration.com for more information about porcelain and china restoration.

Excerpt from Docubloggers:
Debra and the Pump Project Art Complex are a small group of artists clinging on to one of the things that make Austin unique: its local art. This is a community full of creativity – yet its this very creativity that draws people to Austin and ends up forcing the artists further from the soul of the city. Its a noble fight. A city without art is a cold, unfeeling place.

movie nite: how to draw a bunny

How to Draw a Bunnymovie-nite
Wednesday, February 27, 7:30pm

Join us in the gallery for our monthly film series as we prsent How to Draw a Bunny. As one of the seminal figures in the Pop Art era, artist Ray Johnson is known as the founding father of mail art and as a collagist extraordinaire. But, overshadowed by those like Warhol who manipulated that world in a very dissimilar manner, he was also a reclusive and sometimes enigmatic figure who has been called New York’s most famous unknown artist, but who challenged the commercial and critical establishment.

On the last Wednesday of each month, Pump Project will feature documentaries, art films and art-related movies in an informal atmosphere. Cozy up with a blanket and a beverage of your choice. No RSVP required; $2 suggested donation.
